Hiya!

I'm Stephanie and I'm new here. I mean... I'm not really new here. I've worked in the marketing and branding space for almost 20 years and I've been a photographer as both a hobbyist and a professional for more than a decade. As a COO, I built a production company from start up to corporation in 3 years. So yeah... I do stuff. :) But what's important is you and me right now.

So here are some things I want you to know about me:

  • I've been married to my husband since 2007 and we have a boy and a girl. Parenting a middle schooler sucks super hard, but it's still better than having a newborn. Don't come at me. It's how I feel.
  • I'm a pretty blunt person. I try to be diplomatic and kind, but I call a spade a spade. Not everyone likes that. Especially when I'm telling them they're wrong ... or they are trying to take advantage of me. Momma don't play that, y'all.
  • Integrity, honesty, and loyalty are huge to me. If you don't have those things, we are not aligned and I cannot work with you.
  • I'm a storyteller and creative problem-solver and I'm sought out to do that work for personal and commercial brands.
  • I've won some pretty cool awards for my photography and I'm internationally published as a commercial photographer (no big deal, right??)
  • I've written and directed commercials for web and TV. I even wrote and directed a television show pilot once! (Wes Kain, what's up?!)
  • I believe that if your good idea isn't designed to be good for your community, then it's not a good idea.
  • I also believe that poor execution renders a great idea useless.
  • I want to help everyone to succeed, but I can't and I'm working on learning when to say no and how to draw those boundaries.
  • I'm a learner. I do my best work when I'm learning something new or solving a puzzle. Once the puzzle is solved, my brain is out. That's why I surround myself with an amazing team who carries on the work with the highest quality ... and make me look really good.
  • I think I have some important things to say. I could be completely off-base here.
  • I get asked to guest speak at stuff, so I guess people agree with me on the I-have-something-to-say bit. That's cool.
  • I'm really not sure where I'm going to go with all of this, but I'm feeling my way through as I create my Vivid Vision (by Cameron Herald ... go check that gem out) and walk through what my ideal me and my ideal life looks like.

Starting this blog may be completely self-centered of me, but I'm going for it. What else have I got to lose??

Come with me!

We'll have fun!

Stephanie
